  • PE Activity

    Complete the PE Activity
This station is all about getting exercise.
Activity: Have the kids each make a fist and explain to them that this is about the size of their heart. Have them put their hands on their chest to feel that their hearts are beating. At this station the kids can also jump rope. Have them jump for as long as they can and count the jumps to set their own record. For the younger kids, they can jump over noodles that lie on the floor. After either activity, students can put their hands on their hearts and feel how fast they are beating. You can explain that the heart is a muscle and that it has to work all the time, whether we are sleeping or jumping or working in school. Whether we are sick or healthy the heart can never stop, so it’s important to take good care of it.
Awareness: Exercise makes your heart beat faster. That means you are helping your body stay healthy. To be your own heart’s best friend, there are three things you should remember: get exercise, eat healthy food, and never smoke.

    Art Activity

    Complete the Art Activities
  • Create a piece of art with any medium (that means you can use crayon, paint, pencil, newspaper, cereal or whatever you like! It can be a three-dimensional piece or a painting on a sheet.
